"Know Thyself"
Identity was the key concept I wanted to explore through this piece. Creating my self-image was quite a challenge as I explored aspects in my life that I had never thought about before. My surroundings have such an influence in my life and I never came to terms with that prior to this piece. Using digital manipulation, I created the true picture of who I am.

Obsession with Imagination
Obsession. We all have one. But can we come to terms to say what it is. The fine line between imagination and reality has been one of my biggest problems. I have trouble being able to be in the present reality and instead live in my head. Using the culture of Raiki, I explored the mind of imagination.

Two Hearts, Two People
Hearts are not just an organ that processes blood. They are symbol of emotion and that's what I wanted to convey in this piece. Inspired by Frida Kahlo, I conveyed the use of two separate feelings within myself. Ink was used to create a detailed image of such a complex organ.

Religion's Identity
Challenging the ideologies of religion, I explored the many perspectives of this theme and discovered the true meaning of religion and its effects. Mixed Media help create a complex composition of the sensitive topic to show the confinement of religion.

Self Portrait
Through this piece, I was able to paint my face on a scale that I had never done before while using acrylic on a canvas made by me. Using a black to white scheme to convey an innocent and clear side of myself, I explored my facial features in the style of Chuck Close. I also used Art Nouveau as inspiration to create a background that bought together two different styles.

Artist, Artist in the City, City in the Artist
This story line represents my own involvement in my city and how I view myself and surroundings. Surrealist aspects by Rene Magritte influenced my outlook of this subject and used a triptych format along with acrylic to expand my ideas. Milwaukee is a city that has influenced my artwork and life.

PINK!
Gender binaries surround us everyday and we don't even take into account the effects they have. Femininity is viewed as a form of weakness and this photo series explores the effects these restrictions have on men. Pink objects are used to symbolize the confinement of these binaries.

Sacred Vessel
A womb is not only a vessel, but a gateway for the creation of life. Yet, many life's are disregarded through the form of abortion. This piece is symbolic of the sacred life of a fetus and how abortion is a sensitive topic that should be open to debate. Clay was used to sculpt an aborted baby to show emotion through form.
